Western State Bank hires seven in residential mortgage department

Western State Bank recently hired seven employees to expand their Residential Mortgage Department -- Tom Boyer as Senior Vice President/Mortgage Department Manager, Peter Johnson, Dave Ouradnik and Kristy Brink as Vice Presidents/Mortgage Loan Officers, Kim Kays as Vice President of Mortgage Operations, Nan Fort as Assistant Vice President/Underwriter and Julie Bossert as Mortgage Loan Processor/Underwriter.

Boyer will oversee the entire bank's secondary market residential real estate activities. He has over 25 years of experience in mortgage lending, spending the last seven years at Cornerstone Bank, Fargo. Boyer is a member of the FM Area Association of Realtors, a registered football official in Minnesota and previously served on the Hawley Area Volunteer Fire Department.

Johnson has over 15 years of banking experience. He received the Highest Volume Award individually for North Dakota Lenders that contributed to the Mortgage Department's 4th consecutive North Dakota Home Financing Agency's "Champions of Affordable Housing for 1st Time Homebuyers" award while employed at Cornerstone Bank, Fargo. Johnson is active with the Boy Scouts of America, the FM Home Builders Association and the FM Area Association of Realtors.

Ouradnik has over 25 years of banking experience, with 19 years as the owner of Executive Mortgage Company in Fargo. He serves on the Board of Directors for Sharehouse and is active with the Boy Scouts of America.

Brink has over 30 years of mortgage lending experience in the FM area. She is active with the Moorhead chapter of Soroptimist. Brink resides in Moorhead, with her family.

Kays has over 20 years of mortgage banking experience. She will supervise the secondary market residential loan processors and work with existing and repeat customers to provide them the best loan solutions. Kays is active with Peace Lutheran Church, Oak Grove Lutheran School, Concordia, the United Way and Churches United for the Homeless.

Fort has over 15 years of underwriting experience. She will play a vital role in helping loan officers and loan processors provide exceptional turn times to customers. Fort currently resides in Moorhead.

Bossert has over 12 years of banking experience and has extensive processing and underwriting experience.
