Max Lounge to close for summer

Max Lounge announced on Facebook that it is closing temporarily and plans to reopen in the fall. Pioneer file photo

Max Lounge in West Fargo announced it is closing (on Facebook) with a posting indicating the move is temporary and the business will reopen in the fall.

Ramon Sosa, general manager of Max Lounge, 1410 9th St. E., and a sister business in West Fargo, Maxwells Restaurant and Bar, said that when Max Lounge reopens it will be under a new name and with a new business concept.

He said the name is still being decided, but remodeling will start soon. A reopening is expected sometime in September.

Sosa said the Max Lounge concept wasn’t working, so as the summer slowdown arrived they decided it was a good time to make a change.

The Facebook posting put it this way:

“Summer is all about time off, so our very own lounge is going to take a brief vacation during these next couple months.

“We will be able to create new drinks, new menu items, and a new calendar that is sure to blow your long johns off!” stated the post, which encouraged customers to visit Maxwells.
