CEO now says Fargo Gander Mountain store will close
FARGO – An uncooperative landlord has been blamed for the planned closure of the Gander Mountain store here.
Word of the closure was an abrupt turnabout for the store here, which Lemonis said in May would remain open – despite signs outside the store at the time announcing it would close. “Fargo will stay open,” Lemonis said in a May 17 tweet.
The Gander Mountain locations in Minnesota that will remain open, according to tweets by Lemonis on Friday, include Hermantown, Forest Lake, Lakeville, Baxter and Bemidji.
Lemonis, who also owns Camping World, bought Gander Mountain this spring, when Gander Mountain was in bankruptcy proceedings. Lemonis has announced he will build 36 new stores, including one in Woodbury, Minn.
Yes it has. Land not affordable. Landlord not amenable https://t.co/aAmK8IIwk0
