Cargill supports community through donation to local childcare centers

Dedicated to supporting the communities in which it does business, Cargill recently announced it is donating $1,500 to The Village Family Service Center, in support of its childcare centers, Nokomis I and II.

Nokomis I and II provide traditional childcare and educational activities in a nurturing, safe, stimulating environment for families able to pay for the care. The centers also provide services for families with special needs, both financial and emotional. Last year the childcare centers served more than 220 children.

"Thanks to Cargill's ongoing support, we have more resources to help all children reach their full potential," said Tasha Haug, development officer at The Village Family Service Center.

Cargill has been a supporter of The Village Family Service Center since 2007. Cargill's corn milling facility in Wahpeton and oilseed crush facility in West Fargo contributed to this most recent donation, as did the Fairmount location of Horizon Milling, LLC, a joint venture between Cargill and CHS.

"Across the state we continue to support The Village Family Service Center because it's an important resource for local kids," said Red Geurts, manager of Cargill Corn Milling in Wahpeton. "We realize that Cargill's success relies upon the health and vitality of our communities."
