UPDATE: North Fargo standoff ends after armed man surrenders

Camy Couture hosts grand reopening under new ownership

A flourishing West Fargo business has a new name and new owners.

Camy Couture has replaced the Bella Boutique moniker for the business located at 1420 9th St. E., #411 in the Pioneer Center, with the operating concept remaining the same as it has for the past five years in existence. Ben and Emily Coler Hanson and Josh and Rachel Clarke are the new owners having taken over Sept. 15, 2011.

Open the first Wednesday through Sunday of every month, Camy Couture is a women's boutique shop specializing in designer inspired handbags, clothing and accessories. The store features fresh merchandise offerings monthly.

The Hansons and Clarkes are not new to the store so when customers visit, they will still see all the familiar faces. Both Emily and Rachel were previously employed by Bella, so there will be excellent continuity in terms of who is running the store.

A special event is being planned starting today (Wednesday, Nov. 2) to reintroduce the stores new name. "We want to introduce ourselves as owners and then reintroduce the name Camy Couture to kind of complete the branding transition," Ben Hanson stated.

On that note, the grand reopening celebration will be observed all day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a special ribbon cutting conducted by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce at 4 p.m.

Also defined as the "November Sale," the event will continue through Sunday, with special promotions offered throughout the five-day opening.

Thursday, Nov. 3, the morning crew from FM 105.1 will be conducting a live remote from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with several giveaways, including gift certificates, and a variety of merchandise items.

Hours for the November sale include: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday; and noon to 4 p.m., Sunday.

Hanson said correlating with the new name, Camy Couture will be working hard to capitalize on marketing potential, trying to increase their Facebook presence and giving readers a voice in what they want the boutique to include in future month's merchandise offerings.

Toward that end, the story actually has a customer wish list available, where shoppers are encouraged to jot down what they'd like to see. Hanson said every effort will be made to try and accommodate these requests. "We are willing to work with whoever wants to give us an idea."

Camy Couture would also like to increase their private party and fundraising presence in the evenings with those involved receiving a portion of the proceeds. "If you have a soccer club, for example, let us know," Hanson said, "and you can pass out flyers, have people come and shop and receive a portion of the proceeds from that night. It's an easy way to fundraise and a lot less legwork than selling pizza or cookie dough."

In addition to this week's opening and December's regular hours, Camy Couture will also be open on Black Friday, Nov. 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and every Saturday in December, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but closed on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31.
