WEST FARGO—A rumor is going around that Amazon is scouting the West Fargo area for possibly setting up some type of facility, perhaps something like the Amazon customer service call center in Grand Forks.

West Fargo Mayor Rich Mattern said he's heard the rumor, but has no direct information that would confirm that is what's going on.

West Fargo Economic Development Director and Community Services Director Matt Marshal said he has heard the rumor as well, but he said he has had no direct contact with the company regarding any kind of plans it may have for West Fargo.

Fargo Planning Director Jim Gilmour said he had not heard the rumor and has not heard of Amazon scouting anywhere in the area.

Cindy Graffeo, executive director of the Moorhead Economic Development Authority, said she, too, has heard a rumor that Amazon is scouting in the area, but she said Moorhead has not been approached and she does not know the origin of the rumor.
