Pharma company moving North American headquarters from Florida to Fargo
FARGO – A pharmaceutical industry company has moved its headquarters from Florida to Fargo.
The announcement came Tuesday, April 24, during the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corp. annual meeting.
Korber Medipak Systems Inc. North America, which was headquartered in Clearwater, Fla., has relocated to Fargo while also committing to an expansion.
The development follows a sale of Fargo Automation Inc. in early 2017 to Korber International, the German-based parent company of Korber Medipak Systems. At the time, the business had 80 employees; it now has more than 130.
“We are excited to call the Fargo region our North American Headquarters, and we look forward to the continued growth of the business through more sales in the worldwide market,” Korber Medipak Systems President Kevin Biffert said in a written statement.
Korber Medipak Systems is a provider of machinery used for medical device packaging and pharmaceutical production lines.
EDC Executive Vice President of Business Development called it a “tremendous opportunity” for the city.
WDAY-TV reported Korber officials said they’d like to expand the Fargo facility, 969 34th St. N., to double the space to 80,000 square feet. The company also plans to hire about 200 new employees over the next five years.
