5K/10K to kick off second annual Bonanzaville Fourth of July party

A 5K/10K run and walk in West Fargo will kick off this year’s second annual 4th of July celebration at Bonanzaville.

Sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America, the run/walk will be held the morning of July 4. To register, go to

The Bonanzaville pioneer village will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with activities beginning at noon and running until 5 p.m.

Activities this year will include train and horse-drawn wagon rides, clown and face painting, inflatable games from Games to Go, a dunk tank and egg, potato sack and hoop races.

A historical scavenger hunt will be held. A parade will begin at 2 p.m., with musical entertainment provided by the Pickin’ and Rosie band.

A fireworks show sponsored by the city of West Fargo and Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitor’s Bureau will begin at dusk.

“The fireworks show will be twice as big as last year,” said Emily Wehlander, Bonanzaville interim director.

Admission prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, military and students, $6 for children age 4-14 and free for kids under 3.
