6th grade Mystikix dance activity signup set

There will be two informational meetings for parents to sign up their dancer for the West Fargo Cheney Middle School 6th Grade Dance Activity on Monday, Aug. 23, at 6 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m., both in the Cheney Middle School Theatre. The meetings will offer the same information, calendar, and registration so parents need only attend one.

Dance classes will be held from September 2010-January 2011, open to all 6th graders attending Cheney Middle School.  No experience is required and there are no tryouts, dancers just need to sign up.

Instructors will work to advance all skill levels and focus on one-on-one training.  Although participation doesn't guarantee dancers a spot on the future Mystikix Dance Team, it will help better train and prepare them for Mystikix tryouts and the possibility of becoming a Mystikix dancer.

Dancers will train in various styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, kick, and hip hop. They will also learn technique, kick conditioning and technique, strengthening and conditioning, team bonding, confidence, and more. Dancers will learn a routine that will be performed at the West Fargo Dance Show the end of January.  Class instructor is Kristi Brager, head coach of the West Fargo Cheney Middle School Mystikix.  Brager has 26 years of dance knowledge and experience and is currently NDADD (North Dakota Association of Dance & Drill) Coach of The Year. A select group of Mystikix dancers will assist as instructors.  Dancers are encouraged to also take other dance classes, as this activity will not interfere.

Anyone with questions, or to sign up, can contact Brager at 799-5622 after 4 p.m. during the week or anytime on weekends. She can also be reached by email at klbdancecoach@yahoo.com
