Anna S. Habedank, 89, of Detroit Lakes, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes.
Anna Sophie Krabbenhoft was born to John and Sophie (Nagel) Krabbenhoft on Feb. 1, 1918 in Sebula, Iowa. She was raised in Sebula and married Alvin Habedank in Ada, Minn., on March 12, 1941. They farmed in Ada for many years, and Anna also worked at Herb's Café and the Gardner Hotel in Fargo, and did some house cleaning. The couple moved to Detroit Lakes in 1974, and Anna worked at Hills Corner Station. Alvin died July 19, 2003, and Anna continued making her home in Detroit Lakes.
Anna is survived by one daughter, Gloria (Donald) Fenzel of Grey Eagle, Minn.; three sons, Milton Habedank of Detroit Lakes, Norman (Carol) Habedank of Ashland, Wis., and Keith (Linda) Habedank of Tyler, Texas; 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; two sisters, Violet (Paul) Dequette of Park Rapids and Betty (Fred) Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two brothers, Arlo Krabbenhoft of Clinton, Iowa, and Jay (Jo) Krabbenhoft of Fargo.
Preceding Anna in death were her parents; her husband, Alvin; son, Richard; granddaughters, Debra and Miranda; one sister, Ethel Barton; and one brother, John Krabbenhoft.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Detroit Lakes; there will be visitation for one hour prior to services at the hall. Interment will be at the Ada City Cemetery at a later date.
