Annual Leonard golf scramble to benefit West Fargo's Alves
The 10th annual Brian Mattson Invitational Golf Scramble fundraiser is scheduled to take place June 8 at the Leonard Golf Course in Leonard, N.D.
This year's tournament will benefit West Fargo High School senior Ian Alves, who was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer known as DSRCT. To learn more, visit Alves' Caringbridge site at www.caringbridge.org/visit/ianalves/mystory.
Registration on the day of the golf scramble begins at 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $75 per person, and includes a meal, 18 holes of golf, a cart, prizes and two drink tickets.
Teams will consist of four golfers each. Participants are asked to try an form a team to play on, but those unable to do so will be placed on a team.
The scramble also is looking for hole sponsors, which are $25, and the $10,000 cash hole-in-one contest, which is $190.
Side games will be going on during the tournament throughout the course, and are available for company inclusion.
