Annual Park District Winter Days festivities around the corner

With arctic temperatures making residents hunker down inside their homes the past days, the West Fargo Park District has just the ticket to help residents beat the winter blues.

The annual Winter Days events begins Wednesday, Jan. 15, and runs through the Thursday the 23rd, with a variety of activities for all ages to get out in warmer temperatures, enjoy and have a good time.

Highlights from the event include the Silver Snowflake Search, Senior Luncheon, coloring contest, HockeyFest, Snow Golf Tournament, Chili Cookoff at the West Fargo VFW and many fun activities for youth to participate in at the West Fargo Public Library.

New this year to the festivities include the addition of the sixth Silver Snowflake with a cash value of $500 donated by the West Fargo Downtown Business Association, open houses at new Maplewood and Rendezvous Activity Centers and partnering with Fargo Parks for Hockeyfest at Scheels Arena.

“It is a wonderful addition to have the West Fargo Downtown Business Association as a partner for Winter Days events ,” said Kim Wangler, recreation specialist for the West Fargo Park District. “Adding this 6th snowflake with a $500 cash prize is a great incentive for people to learn more about West Fargo and it’s downtown businesses on Sheyenne and Main Street.”
