Applicants sought for youth police academy

The West Fargo Police Department is accepting applications for the West Fargo Police Department Youth Academy. Classes are held on Sunday evenings, twice a month, and will begin on Oct. 2 at the West Fargo Police Department. There is no cost and class size is limited.

The program is targeted for youth grades nine through 12 who are interested in law enforcement as a possible career. The sessions are designed to increase the student's understanding of policing in the community, with some of the topics including: drug enforcement, K9, SWAT, traffic stops, firearms, crime scenes, ride-a-longs, and much more.
