Arctic front ushers in bitter cold, blowing snow

FARGO - A powerful arctic front will usher in bitterly cold wind chills and blowing snow in the Red River Valley today, the National Weather Service said.


Wind chills of 25 to 40 below zero are expected, with air temperatures falling into the teens below zero. Winds will slowly subside this afternoon.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until noon today, while a wind chill advisory will be in effect from noon to 6 p.m.
