Artists host 10th annual Studio Crawl art event
Artists in the Fargo-Moorhead area are opening their studio doors to the public as the FM Visual Artists present their tenth annual Studio Crawl. The free event is Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6, noon to 6 p.m.
More than 80 artists in 41 locations will demonstrate during the Studio Crawl—showing visitors how to work with ceramics, paper, fabric, wood, glass, metal, acrylics, oil and watercolor. All studio locations are marked with bright red signs, and free Studio Crawl brochures with maps are available at Plains Art Museum, from participating artists, and on the FM Visual Artists web site at www.fmva.org.
Plains Art Museum will host a Studio Crawl preview exhibit September 25 through October 7, with an artist reception on September 25 from 7-9 pm.
Galleries in the area hosting special exhibits and receptions the weekend of the Crawl include Rourke Art Museum, NDSU Memorial Union Gallery, ecce gallery, Gallery 4, and Underbrush Gallery.
The FM Visual Artists established the Studio Crawl in 2004 to develop an awareness of the quality and diversity of visual arts in the region. In addition to the Studio Crawl, the group offers several public events each year, including an Art Burn, Visual Talks, a bi-weekly lecture series and the Big Art Show at the Hjemkomst Center.
