Babe Ruth World Series on net TV

Local fans should have a chance to see their West Fargo team compete in the 15-year-old Babe Ruth World Series via the Internet.

The storied West Fargo team begins play in its third World Series in a row tomorrow against host Longview, Wash. at 5:35 p.m., West Fargo time.

The series features eight regional champions from across the country as well as two area host teams. West Fargo won the Central Plains Regional here in West Fargo earlier this month.

The tourney runs tomorrow through Aug. 28, and includes round robin pool play through Aug. 25. Bracket play includes the top three teams from each of the two round robin pools.

Today's festivities include a home run derby, barbeque and opening ceremonies.

West Fargo will have Saturday off and will resume Sunday at 5:35 p.m. against Appleton, Wisc. On Monday, Aug. 24, West Fargo will battle Torrance, Calif. at 12:35 p.m.

West Fargo matches up with Nederland, Texas on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 10:05 a.m. All times are West Fargo time.

All scores will be updated after each game at longviewworldseries.com. Local media stations are planning live coverage. KLTV.org will have streaming television broadcasts of the World Series on the Internet, while KLOG.com will feature streaming radio broadcasts.
