Benefit account opened for Tessin
Vickie Tessin, a West Fargo resident and insurance agent with Western Insurance, recently was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
A benefit account has been opened at Western State Bank. Donations to help defray medical and travel costs to Mayo can be made at Western State Bank in West Fargo, or mailed to Western State Bank, Vickie Tessin Benefit, 755 13th Ave E, West Fargo, ND 58078.
During a routine exam in April, an ultrasound was requested because of family heart issues. A mass in the pancreas was discovered during the ultrasound. On May 3, the diagnosis of cancer was identified. A week later, the Tessin's traveled to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for more answers and to determine if surgery is an option.
After further tests, it was determined that treatments were necessary to shrink the tumor before surgery could be performed. Vickie currently is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation each day for the next five-and-a-half weeks. Hope, courage, and prayers, are the focus, with the anticipation that the treatments will shrink the tumor to make surgery possible.
Vickie and her husband, Roger, raised two daughters that attended school in the West Fargo School District. She has been active in Beta Sigma Phi of Fargo-Moorhead for the past 20 years, various other organizations in the community, and a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross in West Fargo.
Vickie's family, friends, co-workers, fellow church and community members are rallying behind her with support and prayers as she fights this battle.
