Benefit for Janna Johnson Dec. 7
Friends and family of Janna Johnson will host a benefit on Saturday, Dec. 7 to help with medical costs associated with her current breast cancer treatments.
Janna was born and raised in Fargo and has a spirit that cannot be contained, a laugh that is contagious, and a passion for helping others. Janna was diagnosed in August of this year with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, breast cancer. She has started treatment which will require 4 months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery, and then she will complete 6 weeks of radiation.
As a single mother, Janna has proudly raised 3 daughters, Prairie, Kilee, and Autumn who have turned into amazing young women. Janna is now happy to be the grandmother to a beautiful baby girl, Audree. Janna married Michael Dillon in September of this year.
She has been a licensed Cosmetologist, Nail Technician, and Cosmetology School Instructor for over 17 years, spending the last 9 of those years with Hair Success Salon and Day Spa and as an educator with The Salon Professional Academy. While Janna loved teaching and always had a soft spot for her students, her passion for helping others led Janna to her true calling as an addiction counselor.
Janna recently started a new career with Drake Counseling. She had big plans on how to help others within her new profession, but those plans are on hold while she goes through the different phases of treatment for cancer and is not currently able to work.
The benefit is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. at Recovery Worship, 3910 25th St. S., Fargo. Activities will include a silent auction, bake sale, and light meal.
Lend A Hand, a program of DMF, is providing up to $5,000 of matching funds. Donations may be made: Online at www.dakmed.org/lendahand, click ‘Donate;’ or cash/check donations payable to “Janna Johnson’s Benefit Fund” may be sent to any Gate City Bank location.
