Benefit scheduled for Sylstad family

A benefit will be held Friday for the Michael and Brittany Sylstad family.

The benefit will begin at 6 p.m. at the Hartl Ag Building at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo.

The Sylstads were expecting triplets in July. The babies were born April 10. Two of them, Olivia and Ainsley, died within three days. Baby Brenner is expected to remain in a Minneapolis hospital until September.

The event will feature a silent auction, baked potato bar, bake sale, 50/50 raffle and live DJ entertainment.

It is a “bring your own beverage” event open to those 21 years old and older.

Lend A Hand, a Dakota Medical Foundation program, is providing up to $5,000 in matching funds.

Cash and check donations payable to the Sylstad Family Benefit can be sent to any Gate City Bank location.

The event is being hosted by friends, family, West Fargo Fire Department and F-M Ambulance.

Michael is a West Fargo volunteer fireman and F-M Ambulance paramedic.

Britanny works for the Minnesota State University Moorhead Early Education Center.
