In April of this year, Engelking was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a treatable cancer if caught early. Proceeds from the benefit will help defray medical expenses associated with treatment and time away from work.

Engelking maintains a positive outlook in his battle, encouraged by the love and support of his wife, Erika, daughter Ellie, born two months before his diagnosis, and other family members and friends.

The pancake feed and silent auction will offer a variety of great items including: Fargo Force tickets, microderm abrasion from Catalyst, Fargo Theatre tickets, popcorn and soda, Minnesota Wild tickets, rounds of golf at the Osgood Coursre, a woodworking piece donated by neighbors Ron and Rose Stinar, and much, much more.

The event will be held in the lower level of the VFW Clubrooms. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend and enjoy the meal and other activities.

Thrivent Lutheran has offered to match funds raised at the benefit. Anyone unable to attend who would like to make a donation can do so in person at any Wells Fargo location or by mailing contributions to: Wells Fargo, c/o Ronald and Erika Engelking, Benefit Account, 1401 13th Ave. E., #C, West Fargo, ND 58078.
