Benefit Sunday for West Fargo's Alves

A benefit will be held Sunday at West Fargo High School for a Packers sophomore cross country and track and field athlete who is battling cancer.

The banquet and fundraiser for Ian Alves is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. in the high school commons and gymnasium. The benefit will consist of games, a silent auction and spaghetti feed. The meal begins at 5 p.m.

Alves was diagnosed on June 1. He is currently not in school due to treatments. He competed for the Packers in track and cross country as a freshman.
