Berglund benefit set for April 30

Friends and family will host a Pig Roast/Silent Auction Benefit for Mark Berglund to help defray medical costs resulting from Stage 4 Esophageal cancer.

The benefit is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at The Bowler, 2630 S. University Drive, Fargo, on April 30, and live music throughout the evening will be provided by Feedback.

The suggested donation per person is $10.

For many years, Berglund ran the concession stand at the Red River Valley Speedway and River Cities Speedway. His business was named Berg's Place.

Berglund was diagnosed with esophageal cancer Oct. 5, and it soon was discovered that it had spread to his lymph nodes and became Stage 4. He immediately began chemotherapy, and continues to do so.

Berglund has two daughters, Kaylee and Annie.

DMF Lend A Hand will provide $5,000 of matching funds for the Mark Berglund Fund. Donations may be directed to:
