Billie L. Rosell, 79, of West Fargo, died Sunday, March 2 after a battle with breast cancer. She was under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Billie Lucille McChesney was born to Richard and Clara (Gaultier) McChesney on May 24, 1928 in Seattle, Wash. In 1944, Billie married Elmer Rosell in Seattle. They moved to a farm near Audubon and in 1996, they retired to West Fargo. Elmer passed away Sept. 23, 1998.
Billie loved to do needlepoint and embroidery. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and playing computer games. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Billie will be remembered and missed by her children, Sharon Vieths of Plymouth, Minn., Elaine (Darwin) Poulsen of Sartell, Minn., Brian Rosell of Detroit Lakes, Gary (Dona) Rosell of Detroit Lakes, Irene (Vernon) Cartwright of Audubon, Bonnie (Larry) Larson of Little Rock, Ark., Wayne Rosell (Lenny Tweeden) of Fargo and Teresa (Keith) McDonald of Mapleton, N.D.; as well as 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Louise) McChesney of Auburn, Wash.; and one sister, Betty Norwood of Mill Creek, Wash.
Preceding Billie in death were her husband, Elmer and one grandson, Chad Rosell.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
