Blessed Sacrament sharing Thanksgiving food, fellowship
The Thanksgiving tradition lives on at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where volunteers will once again be serving up turkey and all the trimmings for anyone looking for a little fellowship to go along with their meal.
The invitation has been a standing one for over three decades to anyone wishing to attend and enjoy the totally complimentary meal.
Serving time will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church dining hall, 210 5th Ave. W., with the menu featuring turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, corn, cranberries, as well as several desserts, including plenty of pumpkin pie and specialty cakes.
Once again, the volunteers will be preparing enough food to serve several hundred dinners, including dine in, takeout and delivery, and also enough food to be taken to Churches United for the Homeless, to be served at the conclusion of the Blessed Sacrament meal.
Continuing with their weekly "Soup and More" program, a meal will also be served Thanksgiving evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Everyone is welcome to come to the church and dine at either the noon meal or the evening gathering. Both meals are free but a freewill donation will be accepted by anyone wishing to contribute during the noon meal.
