The West Fargo Cross Country had yet another impressive performance this weekend.

The Boys' team took first place and the girls' took second, missing first place by just nine points, against Fargo Davies and Wahpeton on Saturday morning at Johnson Park in Moorhead.

The consistency among the boys earned them a first place score of 26. The girls managed a score of 32, falling short of Fargo Davies' score of 23

"We had another outstanding team effort in both divisions," head coach Joe Bailey said. "We have been running very consistently the last few weeks."

The boys were victorious thanks largely to Darin Baltezore, Austin Albrecht, Nathan Aswege and Parker Rosenau, who finished second through fifth respectively among the 26 runners.

The girls were led, once again, by eighth-grader Jen Dufner, who ran her 3k in 15:13, which was good enough for second place out of 23. Her time was 14 seconds faster than her previous best.

Suzy Dullum was next for the girls, finishing with a time of 15:57, which put her in fifth place. She also ran a personal best, shaving 27 seconds off her time.

"Once a couple of kids show that sort of improvement, the others will follow," Bailey said.

Christina Baltezore, Leah Hermanson and Brooke Grooters rounded out the top five for the girls' team.

The team will travel to Eagle Creek Golf Course in Willmar, Minn., on Saturday morning for a 10 a.m. meet.
