Boys hockey falls to Red River, Davies
The Packer boys hockey team ended their regular season by dropping their 11th and 12th conference games of the year, falling to the Grand Forks Red River Roughriders 7-3 on Thursday, then to Davies 5-4 on Saturday.
The team fell behind early on Thursday, allowing a Red River goal just 22 seconds into the game.
They gave up two more before the first intermission to go into the second period down 3-0.
The team bounced back in the second thanks to senior forward Tyler Berginski, who had two goals and an assist in the period. Junior Riley Vareberg tallied a power-play goal and an assist in the period as well.
The Packers entered the third down, but not out. However, two more goals from the Riders capped off another loss for West Fargo.
