The Packers ended their particpation in a tournament in Fergus Falls with postponed game, but they started the tournament in the best possible way: a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over Park Rapids, who were 6-1 on the season going into the game.

“Whenever you beat a 6-1 team, that is obviously a big boost,” co-head coach Tim Capouch said. “We are very happy with how they played.”

The Packers went into the first intermission on the wrong end of a 2-0 deficit, but powered through in the last 34 minutes, outshooting the Panthers 42-15.

“We just told them to hold their heads up in the intermission,” Capouch said. “This team works really hard, and they just have to keep plugging away.”

They followed their victory the next day with a 6-3 loss to New Ulm, despite outshooting their opponent once again.

“Once we start scoring some goals, we are going to have some fun this season,” Capouch said.

The Packers were scheduled to face Fergus Falls on Saturday, but that game has been rescheduled for tomorrow.
