Boys' hockey wins two straight

The Packers boys' hockey team had a solid week, winning against Grand Forks Central 6-3 on Tuesday and then beating Fargo South-Shanley 3-1 on Saturday.

Down 1-0 after the first intermission against the Knights, the Packers rallied, scoring three goals in the second period and another three in the third to seal the victory.

The team was led by seniors Blake Nelson and Logan Matzke, both of whom had a goal and an assist.

Goalie Bailey Vareberg had 28 saves against the Knights.

Against the Bruins, the Packers got two goals from senior forward Tyler Crouse - one in the first period and one in the third - to secure a West Fargo victory.

West Fargo's other goal came from junior forward Tyler Berginski in the third period.

The team currently sit in fourth place in the East Region with a 3-4-0 record and six points on the season.

They have a break until after Christmas, and will head to Fergus Falls, Minn., for a tournament on Thursday, Dec. 27.
