Broomball Tournament this weekend at Scheels Arena

A broomball tournament featuring area teams is scheduled for Friday-Sunday at Scheels Arena in Fargo.

Friday's game will follow the Fargo Force game hockey game, which kicks off at 7:35 p.m.

The Warriors broomball team members also will be scrimmaging during the first intermission of the Force game, as a sort of half-time show.

Admission to the tournament will be free after 9:30 p.m. Friday. Before then, only Force ticket holders will be admitted.

Saturday and Sunday games will be free, as will the parking.

The broomball tournament is a five-team round robin, featuring the Fargo Warriors, Fargo Affiliate, Broom Fiesta, Bud's Bar and Nordic Stars.

Teams are subject to change.

The event is sponsored in part by: Scheels, Coldwell Banker, and State Bank, who all donated funding to the Warriors, and Praxair, who donated materials used to build the nets.

As always, the purpose of the event is to raise awareness and garner interest for the sport of broomball in the area.
