Chamber a finalist for national award
The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce was recently named a finalist for the American Chamber of Commerce Executives 2014 Chamber of the Year competition.
A record 41 chambers have applied for the award, and all applicants were assigned a category based on five factors: population, number of area businesses, total revenue, percentage of total revenue restricted and current membership.
The Chamber is competing in category three against:
- Asheville (N.C.) Area Chamber of Commerce.
- Bowling Green (Ky.) Area Chamber of Commerce.
- Greater Waco (Texas) Chamber.
Winners will be announced in August at ACCE’s annual convention in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Chamber was a finalist for Chamber of the Year in 2012 and 2010.
The ChamberChoice Awards program also received an Award of Excellence in the ACCE Awards for Communication Excellence in the campaigns category. More than 160 entries were submitted for the annual competition.
In May, The Chamber’s Voices of Vision event was recognized by the Mid-American Chamber Executives as a finalist for Event of the Year.
The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce has more than 2,100 private, public and nonprofit member firms and represents more than 94,000 people.
Lebahn a top performer in new health insurance
North Dakota Farmers Union Insurance, based in Jamestown, N.D., recently announced that Shane Lebahn of West Fargo was one of the top five producers of new health insurance for the company during the month of May.
Farmers Union Insurance has 102 agents in North Dakota.
