Cancer awareness event set for Sept. 22

"The Journey Through Cancer and Beyond," Thrivent Chapter's third annual cancer awareness event, will take place Thursday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Celebration Hall in First Lutheran Church, 619 N. Broadway, Fargo.

Exhibit booth displays and refreshments will be featured from 6 to 7 p.m. Rev. Christoph Schmidt and Rev. Taryn Montgomery, a cancer survivor and spouse, will speak from 7 to 8 p.m., sharing their journey through four major cancer surgeries, radiation, and beyond. The talk will be followed by a question and answer session and door prize drawings.

This free event welcomes all cancer survivors, families, friends and caregivers. No pre-registration is required.
