Cancer awareness event set for September 30

The second annual Cancer Awareness event for cancer survivors, families, friends and caregivers will be held Thursday, September 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Celebration Center of First Lutheran Church, 619 Broadway, Fargo (east doors), featuring various exhibit booths and appetizers.

Dr. Shelby Terstriep, the Medical Director of Embrace, Roger Maris Cancer Center's Cancer Survivorship Program, will explore the topic of cancer survivorship.  Jim Klobuchar, former columnist with the Minnesota Star Tribune is the keynote speaker. He is a humorist, inspirational speaker, and a cancer survivor who will talk about some of the people he has encountered throughout his long career:  presidents, heroes, kings, knaves, quarterbacks, and unheralded people who make a difference.  His topic is "Everyone Has An Everest." There will be time for questions and discussion.  Door prizes will be given away.
