Candidates making rounds as Minnesotans vote in primary

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Candidates are trying to encourage supporters to vote in what's shaping up as a low-turnoutMinnesotaprimary election.

Three Democrats are vying to challenge first-term GOP congressman Chip Cravaack in northeasternMinnesota's8th District.

Tarryl Clark started her day at the Hibbing Taconite plant and chatted with voters in Virginia and Eveleth before voting in Duluth, where her stops included a Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Jeff Anderson began at the MinnTac mine in Mountain Iron before campaigning and voting in Duluth. He plans to greet workers at a paper mill later in the day. Rick Nolan is spending the day greeting voters in the Brainerd area.

In southernMinnesota's1st District GOP primary, Mike Parry made the rounds in Waseca and Owatonna, while Allen Quist has been doing media interviews.
