Cass County 4-Her's excel at State Consumer Choices Contest

The Cass County 4-H Consumer Choices Junior Judging Teams placed third in the North Dakota State Consumer Choices Judging Contest held at  Bismarck on July 26, with approximately 100 4-Her's from throughout North Dakota participating.

Members of the Junior Team were: Jarret Lardy, West Fargo; Colton Christmann, Kindred; Carlie Kieffer, Wheatland; Derek Phelps, Fargo and Anna Stoppleworth, Horace. Receiving individual honors was Jarrett Lardy, who was named seventh high individual

Members of the Senior Team were: Kaylyn Lindstrom, Amenia; Mikayla Cramer, Amenia; Hannah Roach, Wheatland and Ashley Stoppleworth, Horace.

The teams were coached by Rita Ussatis, Extension Agent.

Consumer Choices Judging, a 4-H consumer activity, is an exercise in decision making that involves ranking in four items in each of six classes. Classes included in this state contest were breakfast cereals, luggage and gift sunglasses. 

Consumer Choices is one of many educational events sponsored through the 4-H program. 4-H is the youth education program of the NDSU Extension Service and is conducted by volunteer leaders.
