Chamber meeting an opportunity for public input
West Fargo Area Chamber of Commerce members will have the opportunity to gain additional information and have all their questions answered regarding a possible merger with the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber during a special town hall type meeting set for Tuesday, June 29, at 4:30 p.m., in the West Fargo High School Theatre, 801 9th St. E.
The session will be conducted by a facilitator yet to be determined, along with representation from the executive boards of both the West Fargo Area Chamber and the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber, who will be on hand to answer any and all questions posed by the West Fargo Chamber membership.
Following this session, a formal vote ballot of all West Fargo Area Chamber members will be mailed out beginning July 1, with ballots needing to be returned to chamber officials by 9 a.m. on Monday, July 12.
Several preliminary meetings have already been conducted between the West Fargo and Fargo-Moorhead factions, paving the way for the meeting next Tuesday.
Among the benefits of a possible merger being touted are: unified efforts, saving time and resources; added value, in the form of business training, networking, and leadership programs; enhanced political influence, regarding public policies issues; positive bottom line impact, with a single dues investment; and increased business-to-business opportunities, working together as a larger geographic region exposed to new sales opportunities.
West Fargo Chamber Chair Kathy Lewin encourages all chamber members in good standing to attend the town hall meeting and play an actively functional role in this initiative.
The venue will provide the perfect opportunity for either your support or opposition to be voiced and heard before the vote is taken.
