Choice Financial Hawaiian for Hospice Fundraiser Raises More Than $20,000
Choice Financial presented a check for more than $20,000 to Hospice of the Red River Valley (HRRV) with proceeds generated from the 'Go Hawaiian for Hospice' fundraiser held July 2 in Fargo.
Those who attended Go Hawaiian for Hospice enjoyed a Luau lunch of roast pig, French fries, pineapple and ice cream. In addition to lunch, attendees enjoyed raffle prizes donated by local businesses, a Norene Bunker Memorial Wall where attendees could honor and remember their loved ones, and NDSU football coach Craig Bohl made an appearance to sign autographs. Attendance was estimated at 600 people.
"We're absolutely thrilled with the amount of community support in our first fundraiser for Hospice. HRRV has a special place in my heart after seeing the care they provide, and Choice Financial really wanted to step up to help this great organization. Choice has locations up and down the Red River Valley, in the same communities served by HRRV, so we're excited to make this commitment to help their organization serve those in need of end-of-life care," stated Erv Inniger, board member and senior director of community relations for Choice Financial.
"Our employees had a great time volunteering at the event and were excited to get out in the community to help raise awareness and funds for our organization," shared Deb Gemar, development officer at Hospice of the Red River Valley. "We truly appreciate Choice Financial for hosting the fundraiser, and all the folks who came out to support us and donate."
Choice Financial plans to make Go Hawaiian for Hospice an annual event.
