Choice Financial's Junior Bank Board members learn a lot about money at their monthly meetings, but what really makes a difference is what they do with their money. The funds Junior Bank Board members earn by attending their meetings were recently donated to the West Fargo High School to help start a "Hall of Fame" at the High School. Through donations totaling $1,275, the Junior Bank Board members made a positive impact in their community.
The Junior Bank Board also recently traveled to Bismarck, N.D. for their annual trip. The group, consisting of 37 high school juniors and seniors from all Choice Financial locations, had an opportunity to tour the Bank of North Dakota and the State Capitol building. Eric Hardmeyer, Bank of North Dakota president, visited with the Junior Bank Board members before they toured the bank and enjoyed lunch at the Heritage Center on the capitol grounds.
The Junior Bank Board (JBB) is a program Choice Financial offers to students who are seeking the opportunity to learn about businesses and the role they play in the economy and community. The Junior Bank Board program facilitates bonds between students and community members, as well as with their peers. By participating in the JBB, students learn and develop the attributes that future employers are looking for in prospective employees including responsibility, leadership, financial knowledge, ability to work well in groups and a positive attitude.
