City load restrictions lifted
The City of West Fargo removed spring load restrictions on May 28. Load restrictions are enacted during the spring due to melting frost softening the roadway sub-base. Heavy truck traffic during this time can cause severe damage and require extensive repairs to the road surface. Once the frost is gone and the sub-base has dried, normal traffic can resume without causing additional damage. Residential and commercial roadways do have different weight restrictions.
Information relating to truck routes and load restrictions can be found at the City of West Fargo web site http://www.westfargond.gov/ or by calling West Fargo Public Works 701-433-5400.
