Donations of new or clean, gently used men’s, women’s, infant’s and children’s coats and snowsuits are being accepted.

In addition, winter accessories – including boots, scarves, gloves and hats – are also welcome. Organizers ask that pairs of gloves or boots are attached prior together prior to donating.

The following locations will accept donations through Oct. 3:

  • Dress Club Cleaners, 406 Minnesota Ave.
  • JC Penney, Paul Bunyan Mall
  • Lueken’s Village Foods North, 1171 Paul Bunyan Drive NW
  • Lueken’s Village Foods South, 609 Washington Ave. S.
  • Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, east lobby of hospital

The coat drive is one of United Way’s community impact initiatives aimed to help meet the basic needs of those who may otherwise have to go without, while also helping families become more financially stable.

Coats and winter accessories will be distributed from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 6 at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji.

The annual coat drive is made possible through the support of First Lutheran Church and Paul Bunyan Broadcasting’s KZY 95.5, Z99, KBUN Sports Radio and Continuous Country KB101.
