West Fargo City Commissioners approved a request to start the wheels turning for the purchase of city land in order to build a clubhouse at an established apartment complex housing 450 units located in Eagle Run off of 32nd Avenue East.
The area in play presently contains retention ponds, which would require substantial prep work to accommodate the clubhouse and playground area being proposed by Michael Domitrovich, president of City View.
Domitrovich said investors want to "better the property" adding a clubhouse would be a real asset and would work great for the property. "We're trying to energize it. There is very low occupancy right now."
City Administrator Jim Brownlee said that any retention that would be lost would have to be replaced. He suggested hiring a realtor to make the sale. The board voted 4-0 to approve the request, with Mayor Rich Mattern absent from the meeting.
