Community Open Forums rescheduled
The West Fargo School District will hold a series of Open Forums to get input from the community about the upcoming school building referendum. All forums will be open to the public and will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The first meeting will be held at Cheney Middle School, 825 17th Ave. E., on Wednesday, May 13. Additional forums will be held on Thursday, May 14, at South Elementary School, 117 6th Ave. W.; Monday, May 18, at Westside Elementary School, 945 7th Ave. W.; Tuesday, May 19, at West Fargo High School, 801 9th St. S.; and Thursday, May 21, at the Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center, located at 800 40th Ave. E.
The meetings were originally scheduled to be held in April. However, when the North Dakota Legislative session was delayed because of flood related problems across the region, district officials decided to reschedule the forums to give residents a chance to find out how pending tax relief decisions will affect local taxpayers. The legislative session is scheduled to close on May 6.
Residents are encouraged to attend one, or any of the scheduled meetings, and give their input on the June bond referendum, or any suggestions or concerns they may have about the proposed building projects. The West Fargo School District is seeking a bond referendum in the amount of $65,000,000 to be held on June 9, for the construction of several building projects, including a second high school, additional middle school space, a new elementary school, an addition to Horace Elementary School, as well as renovations at West Fargo High School.
