Dolores Mae (Shirek) Posch, age 79, of Argusville, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, after a lengthy battle with cancer at MeritCare, Palliative Care, Fargo. Services were held Saturday, May 3, at St. William's Catholic Church, Argusville. Burial was at Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo.
Dolores was born Feb. 28, 1929, at Michigan, the youngest of seven children to Michael and Catherine (Hodny) Shirek. She attended school at Mapes until the family moved from the farm to Gardner. She graduated from Gardner High School in 1947.
On Jan. 7, 1950, Dolores married Jerome Posch of Argusville at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fargo. After living in Gardner for a few years, they moved to Argusville, where they have lived ever since, spending the last many summers at Pelican Lake, Pelican Rapids, Minn. She was a long-time member of St. William's Catholic Church, Argusville, and a former catechism teacher. She was also a summer associate member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Dolores was an avid reader and loved doing puzzles. She sewed, knit, crocheted, and embroidered and was an excellent cook and baker.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 58 years, Jerome Posch, Argusville; two daughters, Diane (Don) Cunningham, Chester, S.D., and Renee (Charles) Foster, Oakes; one grandchild, Austin Foster, Oakes; and many nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Adella Evans; five brothers, Max, Henry, Ted, Lawrence and Jerry Shirek; an infant daughter, Elaine; and an infant son, Kevin.
