Dorothy M. Ihle, 78, Fargo, died on Friday, February 5, 2010 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Dorothy May Miller was born on May 20, 1931 in Hettinger, N.D. to Edwin and Lavina (Butterfield) Miller.  She grew up on the family farm near Lodgepole, S.D. and attended country school there. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif. and attended business college there. She returned home and lived in Hettinger, N.D. where she worked as a legal secretary for James Clement, Attorney at Law, for most of her adult life. Dorothy married Anton (Tony) Ihle on November 27, 1956 in Hettinger. They farmed near Haynes, N.D., and due to health concerns, moved to Fargo five years ago.

She enjoyed traveling to Rapid City, S.D. and Billings, Mont. for shopping & sightseeing, coffee at the local café's, and always loved the country lifestyle, especially riding horse as a young girl.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Tony of Eventide Living Center in Moorhead,; a daughter, Jan (Glenn) Nelson of Horace,; two grandchildren, Megan and Grant Nelson; siblings, Joyce (Hugh) Thompson of Long Beach, Calif. and Bud (Shirley) Miller of Hettinger; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two siblings, Caryl (Franklin) Pratt and Gordon (Naomi) Miller.

A memorial service will be held, Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Bottolfson Chapel in Eventide Living Center, Moorhead, Minn. with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at the Hettinger (ND) Cemetery in the spring.
