Eastbound Interstate 94 blocked near WF, blowing snow makes travel difficult in some areas
WEST FARGO - A traffic accident was blocking eastbound Interstate 94 at Main Avenue in West Fargo this morning, and travelers taking that route were advised to get off interstate at that exit into West Fargo.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation has lifted a no-travel advisory for parts of the state, including Bismarck-Mandan, Jamestown, Valley City and surrounding areas.
However, there are still lots of travel problems because of the snow and blowing snow.
Fargo-Moorhead received about 3 inches of snow, but other areas got significantly more.
The DOT reports scattered snow drifts basically statewide, including on interstates 94 and 29.
Bruce Nord, maintenance supervisor for the DOT, said road conditions are worse south of Fargo, as heavier snow fell in the Wahpeton, Lisbon and Forman areas. Snowplow crews are finding a lot of pillow drifts, he said.
Fair driving conditions were reported in this area of Minnesota, with some blowing snow and scattered slippery areas. Travel is reported difficult in other parts of the state, principally west and south of the Twin Cities metro area.
