Nothing is more appealing to a hungry group of casual guests than hot sandwiches served on big crusty rolls, a meal in itself, served alongside your favorite variety of chips and dip combinations and an easy vegetable tray.
Pork and beef are the perfect mainstays when it comes to piling the meat on high and topping with barbecue sauce, mustard or horseradish, or serving up a dipping sauce.
The Easy Slow Cooker French Dip is perfect for the busy person, simmering away all day in a slow cooker. Nobody can detect the presence of the beer in this recipe, but it adds a wonderful flavor. French fries also make a great side dish to this sandwich.
And if you like, you can add a couple of slices of provolone cheese to the top and let it melt. Yummy!
The Pulled Pork Sandwich is also remarkably easy prepared in a slow cooker. This recipe will be extremely tender upon completion and melt in your mouth delicious. If you want to give the end result an added twist, top the piled high pork with a serving of your favorite homemade coleslaw.
The nice thing about this recipe is you can use whatever brand barbecue sauce you like.

Awesome French Dip Sandwich
4 pound lean beef roast
1 (10.5 ounce) can beef broth
1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed French onion soup
1 (12 ounce) can or bottle beer
6 French rolls or whatever type you prefer
2 tbsp. butter
Place roast in slow cooker. Add the beef broth, onion soup and beer. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Split rolls and spread with butter. Bake 10 minutes, or until heated.
Slice the meat or shred and pile high.
Use the broth for dipping if you like as au jus.
Barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwiches
1 boneless pork shoulder roast, or pork loin about 3-4 pounds
1 cup chopped onion
1 bottle (12 ounces) barbecue sauce, your favorite
3 to 4 tablespoons honey, or to taste
Dash hot pepper
Fresh sandwich rolls
Put pork roast in a lightly greased 3 1/2 to 5-quart slow cooker (Pam is good). Combine onion, barbecue sauce, honey, and hot pepper; pour over roast. Cook on low setting for 7 to 9 hours.
