Edna C. Benzinger, 92, of Frazee, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Frazee Care Center.
Edna Clara Karger was born to William and Agnes (Blake) Karger on Feb. 25, 1915 in Folden Township, Otter Tail County. She attended country school in Folden Township. On Sept. 23, 1940, Edna married George Benzinger at North Effington Church. They farmed in Douglas County, Minn., until 1963, when they moved to Monravia, Calif. While in Monravia, Edna worked as a custodian for the YWCA. In 1974, the couple moved to Frazee, where they resided at the Rivercrest Apartments. George died on Aug. 17, 1994.
Edna enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, dancing the polka, and watching church programs on the television.
Surviving Edna are two brothers, Erwin (Rita) Karger of Brooten, Minn., and Elroy Karger of Miltona, Minn.
Preceding her in death were her husband, George; sisters Maylinda Krogman, Ester Noetzelman and Olivia Schmidt; and brothers Edwin, Marvin, and Duane Karger.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Furey Funeral Home, Frazee, with the Rev. William Aufdenkamp officiating. Visitation is scheduled to take place for one hour prior to the start of services, from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee.
Burial will be held later that afternoon at Parkers Prairie Cemetery in Parkers Prairie, Minn.
