STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Brandon Duenow, a senior at West Fargo High School, has been named West Fargo Exchange Club Student of the Month for December. He is the son of Melinda and Brian Duenow. Brandon has maintained a 4.0 GPA. His participation in school activities have included: placing in the Top 10 in Mathematics competition, first place in the McDonald’s High School Challenge for the 2011-2012 year and second place for the 2012-2013 year; regional star at EDC solo music festival for both 2011 and 2012; one regional star and one state star at ensemble EDC festival for 2013; Eagle Scout and a bronze, gold and silver palm.
Brandon’s future plans include applying to multiple colleges thinking about majoring in an engineering field.
ONGOING CLUB ACTIVITIES
MEALS-ON-WHEELS: Club members deliver meal-on-wheels twice each week on Wednesday and Thursday to elderly shut in’s.
COMMODITY DISTRIBUTION: The club distributes commodities each month to low income elderly citizens of West Fargo.
FUNDED DONATION REQUESTS
The club recently funded several donation requests: for the Post Prom/Post Grad Committee; YMCA Camp Cormorant; and Grief at School, a program of the Red River Hospice.
Over a hundred people attended the One Nation Under God Luncheon. Gov. Jack Dalyrumple spoke very eloquently about what One Nation under God means to his family.
Exchange club members were bell ringers on Dec. 11 at the West Fargo Sunmart.
Ten club members met with ten West Fargo High school students in the 2013-2014 Mentorship program on Dec. 12.
