Prior to entering service, each ambulance will be further outfitted with radios, a global positioning system (GPS), and a power lift cot. Other equipment and supplies that will be carried on the ambulances include: a cardiac monitor and defibrillator, medications, a ventilator and oxygen, airway equipment, backboards, splints, bandages, dressings, and intravenous solutions. Ambulances also carry pediatric specific equipment.

Operations manager Ken Crupich said that the two new ambulances are replacing two older units in the fleet, which are normally replaced every six to seven years.

F-M Ambulance is a community-oriented service that operates 13 ambulances from six locations throughout Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead and also much of Cass and Clay County. The company, established in 1959, is the largest Advanced Life Support ground ambulance provider in North Dakota, responding to over 16,000 calls for service each year.
