Faith Lutheran celebrates 75 years

Faith Lutheran Church, 127 2nd Ave. E., West Fargo, will be observing its 75th anniversary milestone with a slate of activities scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11, and Sunday, Sept. 12.

Saturday's events will include a concert at 7 p.m., featuring former Pastor Steve Thompson of Jordan, Minn. A freewill offering will be accepted for the ELCA World Hunger Program, with refreshments and the opportunity to visit following the concert.

Worship services throughout the weekend will involve present and former pastors of Faith Lutheran. Former pastors include: Reverends Roger Domyahn, Gary Graff, Thor Rykken, Jon Olson, Elmo Anderson, and Steven Thompson. Current pastors are: Peter Schmidt, senior pastor; and Judy Holmen, Rich Kramer and Steven Nowicki.

Worship services at Faith Lutheran Church will be held Saturday, at 5 p.m., and Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m., with Rev. Brian Erickson of Arlington, Va., preaching. Coffee hour fellowship will be held between services.

Services will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Journey in Faith location in the Urban Plains Center at 5225 31st St. S., Fargo, with Rev. Peter Schmidt preaching.

A special banquet and program will take place following these services on Sunday at 1 p.m., at the Fargo Holiday Inn, with a menu featuring roast turkey and all the trimmings.

Tickets for this event are available in the church office during regular business hours until Sept. 9. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
