Faith Lutheran Church has a long-term relationship with the community of Tiera Nueva Uno, in Chinautla, Guatemala, and delegations have traveled north to south and south to north for many years. Abriendo Fronteras-Opening Borders, is an organization that creates immersion programs for learning and awareness of issues along the Texas-Mexico border, particularly the issues of immigration, health, violence against women, family dynamics, and United States foreign policy - all of which are viewed through the lens of the Gospel. For more information on this program, visit the Web site at www.openingborders.com.

Various delegations are being planned for both organizations, and there are several openings for people's participation. Sister Parish delegates will travel to Guatemala July 19-29, and several delegations are planned by Opening Borders for August and September to El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico, as well as to the Rio Grande region of south Texas.
